Smith College is hosting wo(n)man show this coming Saturday– and the show is free and open to the public! Western Mass dwellers, please come join us for a great show, and then afterwards head on over to The Yellow Sofa to hear my good friends Bethel Steele and Sierra bring some Boston folk music!

January 10th marks the premiere of this monthly engagement of variety shows at Club Oberon, each in turn bringing a new theme for our artists to dismantle and put back together, and led by the live House Band, Elephant Tango Ensemble. This multimedia event brings together such acts as the clowning of gender-blender Johnny Blazes, the rich vocal stylings of Le Roi Noir, the comedy of Julee Antonellis (of All The Kings Men), the sweet and sexy hooping of Lolli Hoops herself (of The Boston Hoop Troop) and the wickedly talented Boston Tap Company to boot! With a core of outrageous performers, including Femme Brulee, The Steamy Bohemians’ Lainey Schooltree, and The Slutcracker’s own Sugar Dish, this show is a non-stop ride through as many genres as we can muster, set to make you think, engage, and love the ride. Hosted by the outrageous and gorgeous UnAmerika’s Sweetheart Karin Webb, and the Legendary 86-years-young Mary Dolan. The Johnny Blazes Empire is expanding! Not only can you experience Johnny’s performance, wear hir t-shirts and read hir tweets, now you can bring home Drag Royalty Puppets handmade by Johnny hirself!

This Friday, The Aviary (the household made up of Madge of Honor, DJ Jenwason and Johnny Blazes) is teaming up with WoWMoM Balms to bring you the oddest, sexiest assortment of holiday gifts you can imagine. Our table will feature massage oils handmade by Johnny and Claire, earrings and pasties by Madge, coasters and decorative records by Jenwason/Ginger, hairpieces and adorable puppets by Johnny. We’ll be at Holiday Handjobs with some of our closest friends, including Alex K with their vulva Christmas cards, and Inciting Defiance with their t-shirts, magnets and switchplates. There will be booze, performances, DJs spinning throughout the night, and I may even decide to give massages. The event is hosted by our great friends at Truth Serum Productions, so you know it will be awesome…

Lesbian All-Star Revue — TONIGHT!

I’m performing my monologue “Transcension” tonight at The Portland Lesbian All-Star Revue. Why am I performing in a show full of “Lesbians,” you ask? Because the lovely Katie Diamond is presenting a slide show on the making of our collaborative comic of the same title (look for it out next year!) and she convinced me with the reasoning, “I think it’ll be great and subversive cause it’ll be all these fifty-year-old women who are celebrating being lesbians, then we’ll get up there and be like we’re young and queer and BAM! Trans!”

So. Here I am in Maine.

The show is sold out, but if you’re in the Portland area and feel like taking a chance, show up at the St Lawrence tonight and maybe they’ll release tickets if there are no-shows…
