Hey Friends and Fans!
Allow me to make you a proposition…
Last year I attended IDKE, The International Drag KingCommunity Extravaganza, and made my first impression on the international drag king community by performing my “Habañera” at the brunch. This year, I’ve been selected to perform “Check One Please” at The Showcase, which is a much bigger deal. Last year, I was able to buy my plane ticket to the conference due to a date auction that was held at TraniWreck in October. This year… there will be no TraniWreck in October. Eeek! How will I get my gold-spangled butt to Tucson?
Here’s my proposition: an online date auction. I know, not nearly as exciting as a live one, but the outcome is just as fabulous! Here’s how it will work: To the right of this post you will see a yellow button that reads: Donate. Click there, and you can donate any amount from $1 to 1 million katrillion zillion dollars to the Get Johnny’s Sparkles To Tucson Fund. Whoever donates the most gets to take me (or Jonathan or Connie or Swizzle) on a date. You pick the activity, dinner spot, whatever you like — although I must warn you I do not put out on the first date…
You pay for the date and get to pick which incarnation of Johnny you want to accompany you!
Ok, I know it’s not really an auction because everyone is putting money in, whether or not they win. Instead you can think of it as Making A Donation To The Arts– with the added bonus that you might get a hot date out of it! And if there’s a tie between winning bids, I’ll go on a date with both/all of you! No matter what state or country you are in– we’ll make it happen… And if going on a date with me is the last thing you would ever want do with yourself, then just go ahead and donate $1. That way you probably won’t win, and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you helped get me out of the state for at least a week.
The winner will be announced on October 21, the day before I fly to Tucson. Even if you don’t have a dollar to spare, please help spread the word!

The first time I’ve seen you perform was last night in The Femme Show. Fabulous! I especially loved the lip-synching number, even if the music wasn’t cooperating.
